  • Love a devonshire tea here. Service was a bit slow last time I was here though.

  • Small, casual country restaurant set on the Bellbrae property. Food is delicious and well thought through. The restaurant itself doesn't have a lot of ambiance, but this can be forgiven - especially if you are staying in one of the 3 standalone accommodation villas on the property - recommend booking these so you can enjoy your dinner with a wine and not have to worry about driving!

I'd like to give it 3.5 stars, but as I can only give 3 or 4, it has to go down to a 3. The venue is very nice and well designed. There is a large selection of chocolates that you can buy. Yes the prices are a quite high, but that is to be expected for somewhere like here. They have got plenty of room for the kids to run around, which is nice. My big let down was the ice cream. I Brought my wife, and 2 daughters an ice cream. They knew exactly what they wanted and picked it straight away (they had been before twice before, so knew what they liked). Being gluten free, I had less of a choice, but still had probably 8 of the 16 flavours that I could choose from. I told the girl serving I would have a double in a cup, but I wasn't too sure which ones so I wanted to taste some. I tried one (salted caramel) but didn't like it. So I then tried another, as she passes it to me, she says that is all I can try, as they have a 2 try limit. This blew me away, how on earth can I pick the ice cream I want to buy when I can only try 2 flavours!!! I didn't like the second one I tried, and now was stumped as I didn't know what to buy and didn't want to buy a new one without tasting it first. I decided to chance my order to a 1 scope cup and went for the traditional lemon sorbet as I knew what that would be like. Although on a side note, it was not very nice, and the lemon gelati from the ice cream vans is nicer. To add more sting in the day, we only came down because they have a rocky road festival on. We did ring before we came down and confirmed that they had some rocky roads that were gluten free. The lovely girl on the phone said yes, they were, so we headed down the highway to give them a go and buy a few. Get there and go to buy some, I ask which are gluten free and the girl gets out her book and says, sorry but none of them are. YOU SERIOUS!!! talk about frustrating. Anyway, the staff seem lovely and the place is great for the kids, but I won't be going back again.
